Our team is made up of passionate professionals focused on continuous improvement and delivering clean, efficient, and test-driven code. Due to continued growth and increasing demand for customised software solutions, we are now seeking a qualified Developer Programmer to join our technical team on a full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpreting technical specifications and business requirements to design and develop robust web and mobile applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern frameworks such as React.js, Node.js, Next.js, Vue.js, and Laravel.
- Building full-stack applications with database integration (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and microservice-based architectures using REST API, GraphQL, and WebSocket.
- Debugging and troubleshooting complex application issues, identifying performance bottlenecks, and deploying fixes in line with best practices and project timelines.
- Creating unit and integration test cases using testing frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, and implementing Test-Driven Development (TDD) workflows to ensure code reliability.
- Writing and maintaining technical documentation, including system specifications, API documentation, and user guides.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including UI/UX designers, product managers, and DevOps engineers, to ensure seamless application delivery and deployment using tools such as Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitoring existing applications and refactoring legacy systems to optimise performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Providing guidance and mentorship to junior developers, participating in code reviews, and maintaining coding standards across projects.
- Staying updated with emerging technologies and contributing to technical decision-making and software design strategies.
Background/Qualification Requirements:
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in a relevant field.
- Proficient in modern development stacks including JavaScript/TypeScript, React.js, Next.js, Node.js, Vue.js, and Laravel.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, WebSockets, and microservices architecture.
- Strong database knowledge, including relational and NoSQL systems (MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL).
- Experience with Docker, version control using Git, and CI/CD workflows.
- Demonstrated experience with testing and debugging using Jest, Cypress, and TDD practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within Agile teams.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, cloud platforms, and Linux-based development environments is highly desirable.
