About The Team

The Data Team is responsible for the creation of our data products. From the processing of input data to creating the methodologies behind our forecasting, the entire pipeline of creating our datasets sits with the data team. The focus of the team is on our four yearly data updates and the incremental improvements that need to be done to our methods and input data. Further, Data Team members will help support the Insights Team on (private sector) client-specific requests that require subsets of our main data products.

About The Role

We are looking for an Associate Data Scientist to work closely with our Data Team to translate complex data into standardized input data with the goal of improving our data quality. This role will be focused on data creation, data modelling, and product refinement. This position will primarily work on private sector client tasks.

THE CHALLENGE

  • Clean our household budget surveys to ensure we are capturing the right category and spending shares.
  • Assist with QAQC, of our key products, including but not limited to World Data Pro, categories data, cities data, and households data.
  • Collect and clean national accounts and CPI data.
  • Contribute to thought leadership initiatives, including blogs, reports, and presentations.
  • Provide technical and analytical support, primarily to our private sector clients.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Educational background in economics, data science, statistics, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of work experience - recent graduates are encouraged.
  • Interest in economic, demographic, or household-level datasets.
  • A collaborative mindset and curiosity to learn.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative coding practices.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as ggplot2, Shiny, or Tableau.
  • Experience with command-line tools or working on remote servers.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to data-driven projects in a team setting.
  • Advanced level English (min. C1).

  • Proactive Communication: Provide advance notice of any periods where you may have reduced availability so the team can plan accordingly.
  • Collaboration: Engage actively with supervisors and your mentor to ensure smooth task execution.

The minimum monthly salary for this position is starting at € 3,175.00 gross, overpayment will be considered depending on qualifications and working experience.
