Developing components, design guidelines, and collaborating with fellow designers and developers to help build and elevate the Aurum design system.

The Job in a Nutshell:

Together with two design colleagues and a team of developers, you’ll ensure that the design language is consistent, accessible, and future-proof.

Your responsibilities:

• Designing and managing components
• Aligning Aurum with our branding guidelines
• Supporting fellow designers in using Aurum
• Ensuring accessibility and conducting evaluations based on current accessibility standards
• Writing documentation and guidelines to make Aurum easy to use for both designers and developers
• Collaborating closely with frontend developers (mobile and web)
• Launching new ideas and improving processes to enhance Aurum’s impact

You Don’t Need to Be a Unicorn

But you can become one with us. You’ll have the space to spread your wings if you meet the following criteria:

• At least 5 years of experience as a designer on digital projects, and 2 years working with design systems
• You’re a Figma expert (components, variables, design tokens)
• You can write concise and clear guidelines
• You have a portfolio that demonstrates systematic thinking, polished UI work, and attention to accessibility – for both mobile (iOS & Android) and web
• You have excellent knowledge of accessibility guidelines and can perform evaluations at both component and page level
• You’re proactive and take initiative to suggest improvements
• You’ve worked on complex digital products and understand the possibilities and limitations of frontend technologies – either through hands-on coding skills or collaboration experience with developers
• You’re a strong communicator, a team player, and can justify your decisions and convince stakeholders
• You speak fluent Dutch or French in a professional context and understand the other language sufficiently. You also have good spoken and written English skills

• Experience with Design Ops in a corporate context
• Experience applying AI in your work
• Original ideas to strengthen the design team
