Role Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Product Manager to support a NATO digital innovation engagement, leading the vision, strategy, and execution of digital products that enable mission effectiveness and technological advancement within NATOs operational landscape.
The selected professional will be responsible for shaping product direction, managing backlogs and roadmaps, and ensuring alignment between user needs, organizational goals, and technical delivery. You will work closely with high-performing Agile/DevSecOps teams, bridging business strategy and technical implementation while maintaining a user-centered focus.
This role is ideal for a results-driven, strategic thinker who thrives at the intersection of product, technology, and defense innovation, and who can effectively communicate with both technical teams and senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain a clear product vision aligned with NATOs strategic and operational objectives.
- Manage and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring clarity, relevance, and business alignment of all user stories.
- Develop and maintain a product roadmap that balances short-term deliverables with long-term strategic goals.
- Translate user needs and mission requirements into business value through user-centric product planning.
- Lead iterative Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and demos to drive delivery outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with Agile/DevSecOps development teams, ensuring incremental, high-quality, and user-focused delivery.
- Drive continuous engagement with end users to validate requirements and collect actionable feedback.
- Coordinate and execute product information campaigns using modern communication channels (e.g., Twitter, blogs, community forums).
- Facilitate effective stakeholder meetings and cross-functional discussions that align on priorities and outcomes.
- Maintain awareness of industry best practices and ensure consistent application of modern product management methodologies.
- Apply technical fluency to discuss architectures, APIs, CI/CD, and cloud-native concepts with engineering teams.
- Monitor key product performance metrics and ensure delivery of measurable value to NATO end users.
- Champion a culture of transparency, innovation, and collaboration within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Proven experience designing and managing digital products in NATO or national defense environments.
- Strong track record in product roadmap management, backlog prioritization, and user-centered delivery.
- Deep understanding of customer needs, technology trends, and competitive landscapes.
- Experience working within Agile/DevSecOps teams and contributing to ceremonies such as standups, retrospectives, and design reviews.
- Ability to translate complex user requirements into actionable, value-driven product features.
- Experience planning and executing product communication campaigns across modern digital platforms.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with a data-informed approach to decision-making.
- Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, and presentation abilities.
- Solid understanding of technical fundamentals, including APIs, software architectures, CI/CD, and cloud-native concepts.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and knowledge of industry product management standards.
- Language Requirement: High proficiency in English (C1 or higher) both written and spoken.
- Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) certification or equivalent is mandatory.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Business, or a related discipline.
- Experience managing digital products in defense, government, or mission-critical environments.
- Background in Agile transformation or Scaled Agile (SAFe) frameworks.
- Familiarity with user research, UX design, or data-driven product optimization.
- Proven ability to manage cross-cultural and geographically distributed teams.
- Experience using modern product management and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Aha!, Miro).
