We are looking for a Network Engineer to join our team!
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Network Engineer / Technical Specialist to join our global network operations team. This role provides advanced technical expertise, project leadership, and mentoring within a mission-critical enterprise network environment.
The position involves hands-on planning, deployment, and troubleshooting of Cisco enterprise-class networks, with a strong focus on Cisco SD-Access (DNA Center, ISE, Catalyst 9000), while also supporting legacy technologies (e.g., Aruba WLAN, Forescout). The engineer will play a key role in global projects such as SDA migrations, tech refresh programs, and new site deployments, while also serving as an escalation point for complex incidents and driving proactive improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a Level 2/3 escalation point for critical network incidents, conducting root cause analysis and implementing permanent solutions. Including Technical Leadership, Support & Collaboration
- Plan deployment, and troubleshoot enterprise networks, including SDA migrations, Cisco tech refresh programs, and global expansions; Including capacity management, risk assessment, and adherence to best practices.
- Actively contribute to change management processes, proposing and validating network improvements and optimizations.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and service providers for escalated troubleshooting and project execution.
- Compliance, Automation, Security & Performance Optimization
- Maintain security solutions such as Cisco ISE, NAC (Forescout)
- Conduct proactive monitoring and performance analysis using enterprise tools (Cisco DNAC Assurance, Logic Monitor, Splunk, NetFlow).
- Regularly perform network performance tests, ensuring stability, scalability, and compliance.
- Provide expert input to customers, architects, and project managers on solution design and implementation.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, ensuring skill development and knowledge transfer within the team.
- Shift-based Work providing 24/7 support on ticket troubleshooting and projects as part of a rotating shift schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in enterprise networking (LAN, WAN, WLAN).
- Customer Service soft skills as this position is customer facing.
- Proven expertise in Cisco Enterprise solutions (Catalyst 9K, preferable DNA Center, ISE, SD-Access).
- Strong knowledge of core routing and switching protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, IS-IS).
- Deep troubleshooting skills for complex Layer 2/3, WLAN, and access control environments.
Preferred Certifications
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure or Wireless)
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)
- Aruba Certified Mobility Professional (ACMP) or equivalent for legacy support
- Cisco Certified Specialist – SD-Access / ISE (or equivalent experience)
Nice to Have
- Experience with network virtualization (VXLAN, MP-BGP, LISP).
- Familiarity with Aruba WLAN, Forescout NAC, and hybrid multi-vendor ecosystems.
- Exposure to automation/orchestration (Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker).
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
- Automate recurring tasks using scripting (Python, REST APIs) to improve efficiency and reliability.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with monitoring and analytics platforms such as Logic Monitor, Splunk and NetFlow.
- Scripting skills (Python) and familiarity with REST APIs for network automation.
Work Schedule & Availability
- Position is based in Romania, with shift-based work providing 24/5 (Monday–Friday) support for ticket troubleshooting and projects as part of a rotating schedule.
- Must be available for flexible hours and occasional work outside regular business times to support critical incidents, urgent deployments, or major change windows.
- Must be available for occasional on-call duties to support weekend projects or other exceptional weekend work.
- Flexibility to adjust working hours when collaborating with teams across different time zones, as needed.
