The Anything Group is a full-service digital, marketing, software development and provision, branding, website development and reputation agency, with a full in-house production and filming studio. TAG performs Emotive Engagement and Connection Marketing services across the hospitality, luxury brands and products, fashion, retail and streamed media worlds.

We're looking for a full-time Backend Developer to join our software team. This role involves developing robust backend solutions for various projects, specifically focusing on database management within AWS environments.

Expectatios for this role:

• Develop and maintain server-side logic and APIs, ensuring high performance, scalability, and responsiveness.
• Write backend services using Node.js, Bun, and TypeScript, ensuring clean, maintainable, and testable code aligned with industry standards.
• Design and manage databases (mainly PostgreSQL) with a focus on reliability, high availability, and redundancy.
• Build and maintain microservices architecture, supporting event-driven communication with tools such as SQS and EventBridge.
• Implement serverless functions (e.g., AWS Lambda with Python) to handle specialized tasks efficiently.
• Collaborate with frontend developers and DevOps specialists to define objectives and deliver cohesive, functional systems.
• Ensure security measures and data protection protocols, complying with best practices and legal regulations.
• Stay updated with backend development trends, particularly in cloud-native, serverless, and TypeScript/Bun ecosystems.
• Experience implementing, testing, and maintaining integrations between PMS, channel managers and OTAs is a plus.

Personal & Professional Skills we’re looking for:

• Knowledge of best practices in development, security, and testing.
• Experience working with documentation tools such as Swagger or Postman.
• Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of caching tools such as Redis.

• Experience with Jira/Trello and Bitbucket.

You'll be a top candidate if you have:

• Experience in designing and optimizing relational and non-relational databases.
• Strong proficiency in server-side languages such as JavaScript (Node.js) and Python.
• In-depth experience with AWS database technologies (Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora).
• Knowledge of RESTful API development and microservices architecture.
• Understanding of security practices and data protection in web applications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach to technical challenges.
• Strong English communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse team environment.
• Hospitality background.
