Strategic Consulting Assignment | Senior Strategy / Commercial Leader (FMCG)
Duration: 3–6 Months | Model: Remote / Hybrid
Ideal for: CEO level leaders with 15+ years in FMCG, with at least 5 years in senior leadership (Director/VP/GM-level) across Sales, Strategy, or Marketing who are open to advisory mandates.
We've been retained by a leading regional FMCG organisation that is entering a critical strategic phase for one of its smaller but high-potential business units. This division is currently a challenger with several established players in the market, but the leadership team is committed to elevating it into a core growth engine for the group.
To support this ambition, we’re seeking a Senior Commercial Strategist, someone with deep experience in fast-moving consumer products, who has previously scaled or repositioned a category/business unit, ideally within large multinational environments.
The Core Mandate
This is not an operational or turnaround role; it’s a strategic validation and positioning assignment. The selected consultant will:
- Assess the current market strategy and commercial approach of the business unit.
- Identify gaps in positioning, channel strategy, portfolio structure, or revenue levers.
- Translate insights into a compelling strategy narrative suitable for Executive & Board-level presentation.
- Advise and challenge senior leadership, acting as both a strategist and sparring partner.
- Participate in a limited in-market immersion to contextualise consumer and trade dynamics.
You’ll be working closely with the Head of Commercial Strategy, followed by Finance and Executive leadership stakeholders.
Ideal Profile
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has 15+ years in FMCG, with at least 5 years in senior leadership (Director/VP/GM-level) across Sales, Trade, or Marketing.
- Has scaled or repositioned brands/categories within a competitive, fast-moving environment.
- Is comfortable building business cases and influencing C-suite / Board stakeholders.
- Brings a structured yet entrepreneurial mindset, capable of balancing data with intuition.
- Is currently available / consulting independently / retired, and open to short-term mandates.
