Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities, and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have a 6 months contract opportunity for a Network Administrator. This role can be based out of one our main offices including: Stellarton, NS; Mississauga, ON. Calgary, AB, Montreal, QC.
Key Responsibilities
Here’s where you’ll have an impact:
- Network Monitoring: Use network monitoring tools to track system performance and uptime. Escalate issues as needed.
- Basic Troubleshooting: Respond to user-reported network issues, perform diagnostics, and resolve or escalate problems.
- Hardware Support: Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of routers, switches, access points, and cabling.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of network configurations, changes, and incidents.
- Security Awareness: Follow established security protocols and assist in implementing basic security measures.
- Learning & Development: Participate in training sessions and certifications to build technical skills and knowledge.
- 0–2 years of experience in a networking or IT support role.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT).
- Familiarity with network tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, PRTG).
- Entry-level certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA (in progress or completed).
- Strong willingness to learn, good communication skills, and attention to detail.
