We are seeking an experienced engineer to join our team at CertaraAI as a Machine Learning Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining our machine learning and LLM platform at CertaraAI. They will have experience working on a software team as a machine learning engineer, data engineer, or another adjacent position. Finally, they will have a good understanding of software development, machine learning and deep learning theory, and building scalable systems.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute as part of a high velocity, high performance development team of machine learning engineers and data scientists responsible for driving innovation, building and maintaining our state-of-the-art LLM and machine learning platform.
  • Work primarily on backend python applications (generally RESTful APIs or queue-based systems).
  • Work on and maintain LLM servers and model management systems.
  • Develop stack knowledge required to deploy, test, and troubleshoot the platform on our physical hardware and cloud servers.
  • Help guide the direction of the platform and codebases, stay up to date in advancements in LLMs, retrieval, and machine learning.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in an engineering role focused on machine learning applications.
  • Very proficient in Python, Bash, Git.
  • Proficient in SQL, application design, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Experience with LLM prompt engineering, problem-solving using LLMs, and applying LLMs to real-world use cases.
  • Familiar with software development best practices, development cycles, and writing maintainable and effective code.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., data science, computer science, statistics)
  • Familiar with retrieval/search systems and vector databases
  • Familiar with Nvidia/Cuda
