Location: Onsite 3-4 days per week in San Antonio, TX with one floating remote day per week.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the main escalation point for complex networking issues and mentor Level I/II support staff.
- Provide technical guidance for our SD-WAN deployment, including vendor management and coordination.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Security, Systems, Data, App Dev to name a few) to define and implement networking requirements based on business needs.
- Support the transition toward Fortinet-based SD-WAN infrastructure, with a potential shift from Cisco to Aruba hardware.
- Work closely with leadership to help plan and allocate resources for team initiatives.
- Engage with hybrid network environments, maintaining connectivity between on-premises and Azure cloud environments via ExpressRoute.
- Champion and implement automation for our network infrastructure.
- Ensure network infrastructure aligns with our core values and leadership principles, including integrity, adaptability, and a proactive attitude toward helping both teammates and end users.
Must Haves:
- 8+ Years of professional experience in network engineering and administration.
- Strong experience with Fortinet, including SD-WAN deployment and support.
- Familiarity with Azure networking and hybrid connectivity (e.g., ExpressRoute), as well as an in-depth understanding of networking components including VNETs, Azure FW, NSGs, VPN Gateways, etc.
- Working knowledge of Aruba OR Cisco switches and routers and potential migration efforts.
- Demonstrated ability to manage vendor relationships and coordinate deployments and support.
- Proven experience in mentoring or leading junior team members.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and a strong customer service mindset.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Certifications such as:
- Fortinet NSE4+
- CCNP
- CCNA
- Azure Networking Engineer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification
- CCIE
- CompTIA Network +
- Experience with both Cisco and Aruba network switches and routers.
- Expertise with Palo Alto firewalls.
