About the Role

As a Planning Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of NOMAC’s maintenance operations — driving the planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance programs, outages, and major shutdown activities. You will play a key role in ensuring plant reliability, asset performance, and maintenance efficiency across our operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage maintenance schedules (daily, monthly, and outage-related) using SAP and MS Project.
  • Coordinate major shutdowns and turnaround activities, ensuring milestones and quality standards are met.
  • Monitor and report on maintenance execution, including progress tracking, backlog analysis, and cost variance reports.
  • Verify and coordinate material requirements, spare parts, and technical specifications with operations and procurement.
  • Provide technical support on plant modifications, ensuring adherence to engineering standards and safety practices.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and contractors to ensure safe, efficient, and timely maintenance execution.
  • Lead SAP administration for planning processes, maintaining accurate and standardized data.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, developing smarter ways to enhance equipment reliability and reduce downtime.


What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
  • 7–10 years’ experience in maintenance planning within power generation or water desalination plants, including at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of CMMS tools (SAP preferred), project management, and predictive maintenance methods.
  • Proven experience managing outages or shutdowns for critical electrical/mechanical equipment.
  • Excellent planning, organization, and analytical skills, with a strong safety and quality mindset.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior engineers.
