Day Rate: Up to €700/day (freelance / contract)

Onsite Requirement: Minimum 3 days per week onsite (not in Vienna)

About the Role


We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join a long-term transformation programme for a major Central & Eastern European bank. The project involves complex, multi-year initiatives across regulatory, operational, and technology domains, offering the opportunity to work within a high-impact and stable environment.



Key Responsibilities


  • Lead end-to-end project delivery within the bank’s transformation programme.
  • Coordinate multiple stakeholders across business and IT teams.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, risks, and reporting in line with enterprise PMO standards.
  • Ensure governance and compliance with internal banking processes.
  • Collaborate closely with senior management, vendors, and cross-border teams.



Required Experience


  • Minimum 10 years of project management experience, ideally in regulated industries.
  • At least 8 years within banking or financial services, preferably covering large-scale transformation or integration programmes.
  • Proven track record managing multi-year, multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Strong knowledge of PM methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid) and documentation standards.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent German (mandatory) and good English communication skills.
