About The Dock

The Dock is Accenture’s flagship R&D and Global Innovation Center, based in Dublin’s Grand Canal Dock. As an incubation hub for the next generation of AI and GenAI agentic solutions, The Dock brings together a global community of business strategists, designers, engineers, data scientists, and entrepreneurs. Our mission is to solve some of the world’s hardest problems and create transformational products and services that help industries thrive in the face of unprecedented change. From shaping the future of work with intelligent systems to building breakthrough digital platforms, our team operates across the entire innovation spectrum, from exploration to real-world deployment. At The Dock, we experiment boldly, collaborate openly, and build the future in real time.

As an Interaction Designer you:

Work on defining concepts, strategies and digital interface to design artefacts at a project level. You'll have a strong appreciation for service and interaction design and technology, as well as the ability to elegantly adapt designs across devices; and you'll work across the entire end-to-end experience.

You are a strong visual communicator who creates artefacts to share insights with stakeholders, in order to support ideation and concept generation. You'll be comfortable collaborating closely with software engineers, data scientists and subject-matter experts to create digital products that utilise emerging technology in a responsible manner.

Ideally, you'll have experience with the creation and delivery of digital products and services, working in agile teams and transferring proofs of concept for implementation.

Day-to-day, you will:

  • Solve end-to-end design problems, from identifying user/business needs and generating concepts to defining and creating products and services.
  • Communicate design concepts for digital products through various artefacts, such as sketches, wireframes, navigation flows, information architecture, final UI designs and interactive prototypes.
  • Explore and push the boundaries of design by working with emerging technologies such as Generative AI, voice, and mixed reality, while understanding key patterns, use cases, and responsible design considerations.
  • Navigate complex internal and external stakeholder environments to help identify the core problem and work collaboratively to solve it with other designers, innovation practitioners, data scientists, and strategists.
  • Support and execute design research activities.
  • Synthesise research to uncover insights and design rapid prototypes for stakeholder testing.
  • Communicate ideas and concepts to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Explain, discuss, and justify design decisions effectively; provide and receive constructive design feedback.
  • Support new business development efforts by providing expert design guidance in pitches and proposals.
  • Support the wider project team in the day-to-day execution of the project plan.
  • Act as a design ambassador for The Dock by attending and leading community events, workshops, and conferences.
