Autonomy, relationships, and purpose are the foundations of a meaningful life. Ascending AI builds tools that strengthen all three. We’ve invested €5m of our own capital to stay independent, move fast, and focus on building what matters most.

What we’re building

We’re starting with a product that helps people map their relationships, spot communication patterns, and improve how they connect - bringing instant clarity and intention to daily life. This is the foundation for a broader suite of tools designed to protect human autonomy, strengthen connections, and support long-term goals.

Job Requirement

You won’t just design polished screens. You’ll define how people experience our product from the ground up. This is hands-on, high-velocity work in a small, elite team that builds and learns in fast loops.

You will

• Own entire design projects from first sketch to shipped product, keeping a high bar for usability, clarity, and visual polish while moving fast.
• Develop and refine our design system, adapting it across products as we tackle increasingly complex AI use cases.
• Design core interfaces and flows that make advanced LLM features intuitive, useful, and visually engaging from day one.
• Work side‑by‑side with founders, engineers, and marketers to turn ideas into wireframes, prototypes, and final high quality interfaces. All in tight feedback loops.
• Conduct focused user research to validate design assumptions, gather actionable feedback, and evolve solutions for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Rapidly prototype new concepts, test them in real-world contexts, and iterate based on insights to create high-impact, AI-driven user experiences.

This is 0‑to‑1 product design at full speed. Shipping, learning, and improving every week, without layers of approvals slowing you down.

What we’re looking for

We don’t hire for checklists. We hire builders who thrive in early-stage, high-trust teams and want to grow with us.

• 4+ years of experience designing complex software products end to end, with a focus on UX interaction, and visual design.
• Deep expertise in consumer products and a consistently high quality bar, with experience creating consumer apps that feature thoughtful design, clear structure, and engaging motion elements.
• A portfolio that highlights strong visual and interaction design skills across layout, flow, and motion, paired with a refined command of typography, color, and system design to craft interfaces that feel both functional and beautiful.
• A pragmatic approach to design: balancing user empathy, technical constraints, and business goals to ship impactful products quickly.
• A strong sense that ambition shapes reality: you value ownership, autonomy, and scrappiness, and you thrive with fast feedback and iteration.
• Fluency with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (or equivalent).
• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience driving 0‑to‑1 product development in an early‑stage or scaling startup.
• Background designing for gamification, growth, or virality.
• Comfortable with code and able to translate your designs into functional prototypes.
• Curiosity about human communication, psychology, and self‑awareness.
