We are looking for a communicative and proactive Business Data Analyst to join our team at Applied Medical’s European headquarters in Amersfoort (NL).

As a Business Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in building analytical models and analyzing and interpreting data sets to provide valuable insights that drive business decisions. The analytics and reporting challenges lay across all business related departments, such as Sales, Pricing, Tender and Contracts, Customer Service and Finance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance our understanding of the business model dynamics and operational efficiency. You will support our active markets across Europe, in addition to coordinating with our US headquarters. You will have an active role in shaping a data-driven culture at Applied Medical.

For our dynamic and cooperative environment, where business evolves fast, we are looking for a flexible person who likes to work both independently and collaboratively. The Business Data Analyst is part of the Business Control & Planning team, which consists of eight multi-cultural team members, five of whom are data analysts. You will report to the Team Leader Data Analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, clean, and analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and correlations
  • Create visually appealing and easy-to-understand dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, or similar platforms
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to support business strategies, improve or digitize processes and enhance overall performance
  • Maintain department-specific Azure database, small automation programs, and report workspaces
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs, address inquiries, and ensure the accurate interpretation of data
  • Train users of various levels of data literacy and gather feedback to improve reports

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience as a Business Data Analyst, or a similar type of role, in an international environment
  • Experience in working with complex datasets, Data Interpretation, and Data Management
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal in English
  • Strong knowledge of data visualization tools like PowerBI, or similar
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, Power BI Dax, Power Query, comfortable with Python (or R)
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with ETL processes and data integration is a plus
