Job Summary
The Web Developer / Programmer is responsible for the content, design changes, and maintenance of the organization’s external and internal websites, along with the development, design, and maintenance of various web applications. This key role focuses on building and optimizing secure, scalable, and user-friendly web solutions, emphasizing modern technologies—specifically PHP, Laravel, and Livewire—to support organizational objectives, clinical operations, and patient engagement.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Web Development & Programming
- Design, develop, test, and maintain web applications and services using PHP, Laravel, and Livewire frameworks.
- Build dynamic, responsive, and accessible user interfaces optimized for mobile and desktop environments.
- Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code following industry best practices and version-control standards (Git).
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Integrate third-party APIs, authentication services, and internal systems into existing web applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across staging and production environments.
- Support and maintain legacy web applications while planning migrations to modern frameworks.
- Partner with Communications/Marketing to ensure all public-facing content is current, accurate, and engaging.
- Develop workflows for posting, reviewing, and publishing content in CMS environments (WordPress, Drupal, or custom Laravel-based platforms).
- Conduct routine audits of web content, links, and performance metrics.
- Implement secure coding practices to protect against common vulnerabilities (SQL injection, XSS, CSRF).
- Monitor systems for potential threats and apply timely patches and upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, ADA accessibility, and privacy regulations.
- Utilize Google Analytics and other monitoring tools to evaluate site performance and user engagement.
- Recommend and implement enhancements to improve speed, SEO, accessibility, and user experience.
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 2+ years of professional experience in PHP-based web development, preferably with Laravel and Livewire.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in PHP, Laravel, Livewire, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and SQL databases (MySQL/MSSQL).
- Experience with API integrations, RESTful services, and authentication (OAuth, SAML, etc.).
- Familiarity with front-end frameworks and responsive design principles.
- Strong understanding of web hosting, DNS, SSL, and server administration basics.
- Knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics, and accessibility standards (WCAG/ADA).
- Other Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Strong commitment to security, compliance, and data integrity.
- The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
