The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Project Manager to join our Brisbane team. You will support the successful delivery of our multi-discipline, Greenfield and Brownfield projects, from study phase, through to execution and handover. We are a collaborative team of engineering, design and project delivery professionals, keen for you to join us with your innovative ideas and the opportunity for you to broaden your experience.
Responsibilities:
- Effectively lead the delivery of large standalone projects or multiple medium - small projects at various stages throughout the project lifecycle, ranging from engineering design to full EPCM services.
- Manage project scope, cost, schedule, quality and resources to ensure projects are safely and successfully executed to achieve the Client’s objectives.
- Provide strong project team health, safety and environment leadership and culture.
- Engage with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure project objectives, scope and progress are communicated effectively to keep all stakeholders informed.
- Collaborate with engineering and designs teams to produce fit for purpose innovative technical solutions.
- Analyse complex issues, identify critical problems, and develop effective strategies to deliver fit for purpose solutions.
- Accurate, timely and effective project tracking and performance reporting leveraging effective escalation processes.
- Support project bid process via the develop estimate and proposals.
- Play an integral role in identifying business development and future project opportunities.
- Take overall accountability for all project documentation, ensuring the required documentation is in place, complete and of the required quality.
- Actively manage all project risks and opportunities and maintain up-to-date risk registers.
- Proactively engage and collaborate effectively, navigate complex issues and continue to strengthen respectful relationships with our valued clients and stakeholders.
- Manage project commercial and contract compliance.
- Lead procurement and subcontract processes to ensure the works align with project scope, budget and schedule requirements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification coupled with a minimum of 15 years’ post graduate industry experience in the mineral resource, materials handling or energy sectors.
- 5+ years’ project engineering / management experience in the successful delivery of projects across multiple clients and stakeholders, in the mining, minerals processing, construction or similar heavy industries.
- Lead by example, creating a culture of safety, quality, and environmental awareness.
- Able to manage and oversee the full lifecycle of projects (including feasibility, design management, tendering and contract administration) with a focus of identifying risks and establishing risk mitigation processes.
- Strong commercial background, understanding and management of project finances ensuring project are delivered to the target profit.
- Sound knowledge of scheduling and cost controls systems.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to provide mentoring and coaching to project teams.
- Self-motivated and decisive, adaptable to change and competing demands.
- Dynamic and flexible, with strong interpersonal skills enabling you to navigate change, and influence multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to proactively engage and continue to strengthen respectful relationships with our valued clients and stakeholders.
- Proven project delivery experience delivering multiple projects of various size and complexity in a brownfield’s environment is favourable.
