Job Description
What we do
Join a team of passionate and hardworking entrepreneurs to transform healthcare!
Working in the tech team at Doctolib involves building innovative products and features to improve the daily lives of care teams and patients. We work in feature teams in an agile environment, while collaborating with engineering, design, and business teams.
What You'll Do
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Core Web Frontend Team and help us become the #1 digital and secure medical companion for patients.
We are part of the Platform domain, whose mission is to build and maintain the common building blocks of our system with a "Platform as a Product" mindset. We abstract and simplify the use of these complex, critical components, enabling product teams to focus on their core mission: building products faster for healthcare professionals and patients.
More specifically, you'll join a team of engineers working on advanced frontend development topics and helping spread state-of-the-art workflows and practices.
As a Frontend Platform team, we support and empower all other Doctolib T & P teams to create and maintain optimized libraries and modular and performant applications.
We achieve our mission by providing core libraries that underpin our entire frontend architecture, by writing supporting tooling, improving Frontend Developer Experience and helping tame and reduce code technical debt organization-wide.
As a Senior Software Engineer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Design, develop, and maintain the application frameworks , tooling, and infrastructure that power Doctolib’s web and mobile frontends, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability across our ecosystem.
- Own the “back of the front end”: the layer that connects UI components with underlying data, APIs, and application infrastructure. You’ll ensure seamless integration between design system components, client-side logic, and platform services.
- Collaborating with Feature teams ensuring that the platform aligns with the needs and requirements of our developers.
- Driving improvements by evaluating new technologies and processes, striving for enhancements, and implementing them as necessary to optimize our development practices.
- Defining best practices , known as "golden paths," for software development and deployment. This includes automation, testing, and security measures, in collaboration with our SREs, Security teams, and other domain experts.
- Developing and maintaining tools and services that facilitate the implementation of best practices. These resources will assist developers in building and deploying applications more efficiently.
- Leveraging AI-assisted development , (prompting, context engineering, automation) to help developers build, test, and deploy faster and smarter.
- Contribute to the technical vision and roadmap , identifying opportunities to improve scalability, CI/CD efficiency, and frontend modularization.
- Implementing changes mostly in TypeScript but with possible incursions outside of pure frontend (shell scripts, Ruby, Go, Java)
If you don’t meet all the requirements below but believe this opportunity matches your expectations and experience, we still encourage you to apply!
You Could Be Our Next Team Mate If You
- Have 5+ years of experience in Engineering;
- Are eager to be hands-on with our stack: we use React and TypeScript, with Ruby on Rails/Java backends.
- Understand the value of testing your code;
- Have the ability to adapt to the most efficient technologies to solve issues;
- Have proven experiences developing efficient, maintainable and secure products;
- Have a strong understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript build systems and packaging pipelines (e.g., Vite, Webpack, Rollup, etc.);
