The Fashion Product Design Assistant supports the design team in developing and executing innovative, market-relevant apparel and accessories collections. This role involves assisting in concept development, trend research, sketching, material sourcing, and product sampling to bring creative visions to life. The ideal candidate possesses a strong eye for design, a passion for fashion trends, and excellent technical skills. Working closely with designers, merchandisers, and production teams, the assistant ensures that every product aligns with the brand’s creative direction, quality standards, and commercial goals.

• Support the design team in creating seasonal collections by preparing sketches, technical drawings, and mood boards.
• Conduct market and trend research to identify new styles, colors, fabrics, and design opportunities.
• Assist with fabric sourcing, sample requests, and trim development to align with design specifications.
• Prepare and update tech packs, line sheets, and other design documentation for production and merchandising teams.
• Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and factories to track sample progress, approvals, and modifications.
• Support fittings, adjust patterns, and record design revisions as directed by senior designers.
• Organize and maintain design archives, swatches, and digital asset libraries.
• Assist with color selection, print development, and material testing.
• Ensure that all designs adhere to brand identity, cost parameters, and production feasibility.
• Help prepare presentation materials for internal reviews, buyer meetings, and seasonal launches.
• Communicate and coordinate with cross-functional teams including marketing, production, and sales.
• Stay updated on emerging trends, sustainable materials, and new design technologies.

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related creative field.
• 1–3 years of experience as a Design Assistant, Product Development Assistant, or in a similar fashion role.
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD programs.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and fabric types.
• Excellent research, visualization, and sketching skills with an eye for detail and aesthetics.
• Ability to translate design concepts into production-ready specifications.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Good communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration with designers and suppliers.
• Knowledge of sustainability trends, materials, and ethical fashion practices is an advantage.
