What You'd Be Doing In This Role

As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At The Moment, This Role Is Focused On

• Leading our Search Experience frontend team to deliver world-class search functionality across Canva
• Setting the technical vision and direction for how users explore, filter and interact with search results
• Partnering closely with Product, Design, and Backend to ship seamless and scalable search experiences
• Contributing hands-on to major architectural initiatives and mentoring engineers by example
• Driving enhancements like ML-powered interactions, contextual result surfacing, and advanced filtering
• Supporting and growing a high-performing team focused on performance, accessibility and user delight
  
  
  

You're Probably a Match If

• You're an experienced frontend engineer with deep knowledge of modern frameworks (React or similar)
• You’ve led teams or coached frontend engineers and enjoy developing people as much as products
• You’re excited about crafting search systems that feel fast, intuitive and magical to users
• You’re strategic, hands-on, and love balancing quality with delivery
• You have a strong product mindset and thrive in cross-functional environments
