The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Materials Engineer / Product Engineer to join our Product Innovation and Technology team and play a key role in shaping smarter, data-driven processes across our Australian Steel Products portfolio. Our Western Port site operates 24/7 across four major manufacturing departments, delivering innovative products and solutions to both domestic and export customers.
In this dynamic role, you’ll leverage your technical expertise, analytical skills, and continuous improvement mindset to optimize processes and ensure product quality across multiple specialist unit groups. Working closely with Operations and Maintenance teams, you’ll use data insights and digital tools to drive process improvements while championing a safety-first culture.
This position is based at our Western Port Works in Hastings, VIC, on the stunning Mornington Peninsula, working Monday to Friday, day shift. What Will You Do?
Using Your Analytical, Hands-on, And Tech-savvy Approach, You Will
- actively contribute to a safe and digitally-enabled working environment
- identify and implement improvements to operational and technological processes
- collaborate with production teams to map, monitor, and optimize core processes
- analyse process and product data to uncover actionable insights and efficiency gains
- partner across the manufacturing plant to ensure consistent product quality
Whether you’re a graduate ready to launch your career or an experienced engineer seeking to broaden your digital skillset, you will bring:
- tertiary qualifications in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent
- a strong commitment to safety and wellbeing for yourself and others
