As part of a Chief Data Officer’s organization, the Data Steward collaborates closely with Data Owners, users, and stakeholders to implement and maintain effective data management practices aligned with organizational data governance goals. The remote option is available exclusively for candidates residing and working in Latvia.

This position offers a hybrid setup with the flexibility to work from any location in Latvia, whether it's your home or our dynamic offices in Riga.

Responsibilities

  • Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements, data needs, and dependencies within assigned domains
  • Translate business use cases into data requirements, partnering with Data Owners, Architects, and IT teams
  • Conduct data analysis and validation using SQL to identify issues, trace data flows, and verify data quality
  • Maintain and enhance metadata and data dictionaries in line with governance standards
  • Ensure compliance with data policies and procedures within business and IT initiatives
  • Foster collaboration between business and technology teams to ensure data solutions meet governance and functional expectations
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance data usability and efficiency
  • Contribute to data initiatives and deliverables under tight timelines with accountability and quality assurance

 

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Data Steward in data-intensive environments
  • Solid knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks
  • Proficient in SQL for data analysis, profiling, and troubleshooting
  • Understanding of data warehousing, reporting, and data lineage concepts
  • Experience with data systems in banking or financial services is preferred
  • Familiarity with data modeling and database design fundamentals
  • Strong knowledge of data governance and quality management principles with pragmatic application
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate complex data and systems
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management to bridge technical and business perspectives
  • Highly organized, accountable, and delivery-focused, capable of working under strict deadlines
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and proactive, with a focus on continuous improvement

Salary range €2K-€4.5K gross, based on your experience and interview results.
