This on-site internship is based in Australia and offers hands-on R&D experience inside a collaborative engineering and research environment.
Role & Responsibilities
Design & Engineering
- AI-aided CAD design
- Automate component layout, wire routing, and panel configuration using AI-driven CAD tools.
- Optimize for space, cost, and thermal performance.
- Product configuration tools
- Use AI to create smart configurators that help your sales team or clients design custom panels quickly.
- Predictive load and fault simulations
- Simulate and analyze load scenarios using AI models to reduce overdesign and improve safety.
- Predictive maintenance of machinery
- Use sensors + AI to predict breakdowns in CNC machines, punch presses, or other equipment.
- Inventory forecasting
- AI can forecast raw material needs, avoiding both overstock and shortages.
- Quality control via computer vision
- Implement AI-powered cameras to inspect panel wiring, enclosure finish, and assembly accuracy.
- Production scheduling optimization
- AI can balance workloads, minimize downtime, and dynamically adjust schedules based on supply or workforce availability.
- Sales forecasting
- Use historical data + external indicators (market trends, seasonality) to predict future demand.
- Quote generation automation
- AI can analyze past pricing, components, and labor to instantly generate accurate quotes.
- Document & spec sheet generation
- Automatically create datasheets, compliance documents, or wiring diagrams from order inputs.
- Energy consumption optimization
- Track your factory’s energy usage and let AI recommend energy-saving changes.
- Chatbots for customer support
- Use AI to answer FAQs, share product specs, or assist in troubleshooting basic panel issues.
- Smart project tracking dashboards
- Let AI summarize project statuses, flag delays, or predict overruns.

- Use AI to analyze client behavior and send tailored emails or promotions.
- Automated compliance checklists
- AI can cross-check panel designs against IEC or UL standards before production starts.
- Post-installation data logging & analysis
- Offer AI-powered monitoring dashboards for end users, helping them detect abnormal patterns.
Must-Have
- Enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, AI, or related field.
- Proficient in Python and experienced with at least one deep-learning framework (PyTorch or TensorFlow).
- Solid understanding of ML/DL fundamentals (training, validation, overfitting, optimisation) and common evaluation metrics.
- Eligible to work in Australia or hold an appropriate visa that permits on-site internship work.
- Prior hands-on projects or coursework involving model training, hyperparameter tuning, or research-oriented experiments.
- Familiarity with experiment tracking, containerisation basics, and collaborative tools (Git, Jupyter, Linux/CLI).
- Mentorship from experienced AI researchers and engineers with exposure to end-to-end R&D workflows.
- Hands-on projects with clear opportunities to contribute to publishable research or product prototypes.
- Collaborative, learning-focused on-site environment designed to accelerate technical growth and career readiness.
