Role & Responsibilities

Design & Engineering

  • AI-aided CAD design
  • Automate component layout, wire routing, and panel configuration using AI-driven CAD tools.
  • Optimize for space, cost, and thermal performance.
  • Product configuration tools
  • Use AI to create smart configurators that help your sales team or clients design custom panels quickly.
  • Predictive load and fault simulations
  • Simulate and analyze load scenarios using AI models to reduce overdesign and improve safety.

Manufacturing & Production

  • Predictive maintenance of machinery
  • Use sensors + AI to predict breakdowns in CNC machines, punch presses, or other equipment.
  • Inventory forecasting
  • AI can forecast raw material needs, avoiding both overstock and shortages.
  • Quality control via computer vision
  • Implement AI-powered cameras to inspect panel wiring, enclosure finish, and assembly accuracy.
  • Production scheduling optimization
  • AI can balance workloads, minimize downtime, and dynamically adjust schedules based on supply or workforce availability.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, AI, or related field.
  • Proficient in Python and experienced with at least one deep-learning framework (PyTorch or TensorFlow).
  • Solid understanding of ML/DL fundamentals (training, validation, overfitting, optimisation) and common evaluation metrics.
  • Eligible to work in Australia or hold an appropriate visa that permits on-site internship work.

Preferred

  • Prior hands-on projects or coursework involving model training, hyperparameter tuning, or research-oriented experiments.
  • Familiarity with experiment tracking, containerisation basics, and collaborative tools (Git, Jupyter, Linux/CLI).
