University of Luxembourg and Finmars.com, an open-source fintech startup, are looking for a researcher for a PhD candidate position in computer science for 3+ years with a potential subsequent employment in Finmars.

The researcher will provide the research part of a commercial project connected with optimal allocation of financial market portfolios and asset selection. The research will be focused on financial mathematics, statistics and natural language processing (NLP) as well as machine learning in general.

Requirements:

(1) Master degree or equivalent

(2) Excellent ability to code ML models in Python, experience in AI agent frameworks is a plus.

(3) Experience in backend frameworks like Django or Java/Spring as well as Kafka is a big plus.

(4) Experience in conducting scientific research in computer science / ML (publications are welcomed).

(5) Interest in computer science, good understanding of math / statistics and ML techniques.

(6) Understanding or experience in financial markets is a big plus.

(7) Fluency in English
