The Fashion Product Design Assistant supports the creative and technical development of apparel and accessories collections from concept to production. This role works closely with fashion designers, product developers, and merchandising teams to ensure that design ideas are translated into high-quality, market-ready products. Responsibilities include research, sketching, technical documentation, sample coordination, and supplier communication. The ideal candidate is highly creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about fashion trends, materials, and design innovation. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in product design and development within a dynamic and fast-paced fashion environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist designers in developing seasonal collections, including concept boards, color palettes, and material selections.
- Prepare technical sketches, garment specifications, and detailed design documentation using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or CLO 3D.
- Conduct fashion trend and market research to identify new styles, silhouettes, and consumer preferences.
- Support the design team in sourcing fabrics, trims, and accessories while maintaining an organized material library.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors on sample requests, production timelines, and quality reviews.
- Track and manage samples, ensuring accurate labeling, organization, and timely delivery for fittings or presentations.
- Participate in fittings, taking detailed notes and updating technical packs with any required adjustments.
- Prepare line sheets, collection boards, and presentation materials for internal reviews and marketing use.
- Maintain accurate product data, sketches, and records within PLM or design management systems.
- Collaborate with product development, merchandising, and marketing teams to ensure creative alignment and commercial viability.
- Support sustainability and innovation initiatives within the design process where applicable.
- Provide creative input and design suggestions to enhance product differentiation and brand identity.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related creative discipline.
- 0–3 years of experience in fashion design, product development, or related fields (internships acceptable).
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign); familiarity with 3D design tools (CLO 3D, Browzwear) is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of fashion trends, color theory, fabric types, and garment construction techniques.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across design, production, and marketing functions.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to fast-changing priorities.
- Passion for creativity, innovation, and sustainable fashion practices.
- Fluent in English; additional language proficiency is a plus for communicating with global suppliers.
