Autonomous Transport Solution is set to fundamentally change the mobility of goods and people. Tremendous value can be gained in terms of efficiency, safety, convenience and environmental impacts. Scania is a forefront player in building a complete autonomous transport solution that encompasses not only self-driving vehicles, but also handling logistics, the assignment of tasks to the vehicle and the communication between vehicles and the infrastructure.
Role Summary
As a Development Engineer in the Autonomous Motion & Prediction group you build leading-edge algorithms that make heavy vehicles safer, smoother, and smarter. As part of a skilled team, you will be a key member in delivering advanced motion planning and control features for current and next generation automated driving functions. You will contribute to systemizing new features on a product level, developing and validating code from simulation to vehicle tests. Your code will integrate with a variety of other components, hence it must be robust, scalable and easy to debug. You’ll apply modern engineering practices and collaborate closely with surrounding teams to deliver customer value that exceeds the sum of the parts—helping drive the shift in Autonomous Transport Solutions.
C++ is the main coding language used in automated software development, but we also have both inhouse and external supplementary tools that are written in Python and MATLAB.
Job Responsibilities

- Be actively involved in improving ways of working while enhancing team spirit.
- You have a passion for technology and software.
- You collaborate well and communicate clearly with teammates in and outside your domain.
- You have curiosity to question things and strong desire to learn continuously and you take initiative with a hands-on attitude.
- Demonstrated proficiency in object-oriented design and development using modern C++/Python or similar, with a track record of delivering production-quality software.
- Background in robotics, system modelling or optimal control
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Familiar with Data structures and algorithms.
- Familiar with ML/AI concepts.
- MSc in System, Robotics and Control, Vehicle engineering, Electrical engineering, Computer science or equivalent.
- Fluent in English.
- B-license or equivalent (meritorious).
