Our products are designed and manufactured in Norway and proudly carry the Made in Norway trademark, a recognition of our commitment to local development, production quality, and the precision of Norwegian engineering. From our Oslo headquarters, we deliver state-of-the-art robotics systems to customers worldwide, bringing our technology from concept to live deployment.

Position: Robotics Software Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Robotics Software Engineer to join our software team. In this hands-on role, you will design, implement, and optimize high-performance software for our next generation of autonomous mobile robots. You will enable safe, intelligent behavior in industrial environments through production-grade code and close software and hardware integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable interfaces for autonomy, perception, sensor fusion, and hardware interaction.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable C++ code for real-time robotic applications.
  • Debug and optimize for performance, reliability, and safety in live environments.
  • Create tools and processes that support efficient delivery, quality assurance, and system monitoring.
  • Collaborate with hardware, QA, and operations teams through testing and deployment.
  • Contribute to software architecture, code reviews, and continuous improvement.
  • Support agile planning and drive technical excellence within the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in robotics software development.
  • Expert proficiency in C++ with strong knowledge of multithreaded architecture and debugging.
  • Experience with ROS and ROS2, Linux development, and robotic middleware integration.
  • Solid understanding of localization, mapping, motion planning, control algorithms, and state estimation.
  • Proficient with robotic simulators such as Gazebo and visualization tools like RViz and Foxglove.
  • Skilled in managing pipelines and using tools such as Git and Docker.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and drive for technical excellence in a fast-paced environment.

What We Offer

  • A dynamic, innovative, and collaborative work environment.
  • A young, forward-thinking, and international team.
  • A centrally located office at Skøyen, Oslo, with excellent public transport connections (2-minute walk from train, bus, and more).
  • Flexible working hours and remote work options.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Professional growth and development opportunities.

Why Join Us:

This is a unique opportunity to shape the development landscape within a young and forward-thinking organization. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of projects from concept to production, work with cutting-edge technologies, and influence design and manufacturing strategies at an organizational level.

At wheel.me, you will join a scale up with a proactive and social culture, where collaboration extends beyond the office through morning runs, team events, and shared achievements that foster both innovation and connection.
