This role is ideal for an entry-level web developer eager to grow their skills in a supportive, remote environment. You will contribute to multiple client websites, ensuring they are visually engaging, functional, and performant. Working closely with designers and senior developers, you will learn best practices in web development, responsive design, and troubleshooting. Accountabilities:
- Implement content updates and style changes using WordPress and basic coding techniques
- Install, configure, and manage plugins to enhance website functionality
- Conduct routine testing for cross-browser compatibility and site functionality
- Troubleshoot minor issues and assist with general site maintenance, including backups
- Collaborate with designers and content creators to ensure visually appealing and user-friendly websites
- Serve as the primary developer for select websites, including improvements and maintenance
- Document routine updates and maintain accurate project data, completing tasks by due dates
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
- Basic working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery
- Familiarity with WordPress CMS, including content management, theme installation, and plugin configuration
- Experience with debugging tools such as Chrome DevTools or Firebug
- Understanding of website architecture, responsive design, and aesthetics
- Bonus points for knowledge of PHP, MySQL, UI/UX concepts, SEO, or web accessibility standards
- Strong soft skills: willingness to learn, problem-solving, attention to detail, teamwork, and effective communication
- Annual salary: $50,000-$55,000 USD
