OverviewWe are hiring a Senior Risk Officer to establish and lead our end-to-end risk framework. The role covers credit risk policy, affordability and underwriting standards, governance, monitoring, model oversight, and regulatory alignment with Qatar Central Bank (QCB) requirements.
Role- Define the risk appetite, risk taxonomy, and three-lines-of-defense processes.
- Create and maintain credit policy, affordability rules, exposure limits, and exception governance.
- Translate QCB requirements into policies, controls, testing, and management information (MI) packs.
- Set up governance forums (Risk Committee, Model governance), documentation, and reporting cadence.
- Oversee scorecards/ML model governance (design input, validation, monitoring, reason codes).
- Build portfolio monitoring (vintages, roll-rates, DPD buckets, stress tests) and early-warning triggers.
- Define collections segmentation, hardship protocols, and third-party oversight as needed.
- Lead data governance: data dictionary, lineage, privacy, retention, and audit trails.
- 10+ years in credit/enterprise risk at a bank, lender, or fintech with hands-on policy design.
- Proven experience operationalizing QCB requirements and local market practices.
- Strong command of credit bureau and bank-statement/cash-flow analysis for affordability and limits.
- Expertise in model governance (scorecards/ML), validation, back-testing, and performance MI.
- Excellent documentation and stakeholder communication skills.
- Fluent in English.
- Currently based in Qatar with demonstrated local experience.
