Company Description
We’re building Jamu, an AI tool for music creators, and we’re looking for a developer to join us early. This is a chance to be part of a startup from the ground up and help create something that hasn’t been done before.
What you will do
- Package and continuously iterate our Python-based app (with some JS integrations) into executables. macOS first, then Windows.
- Work on deploying and packaging web apps (e.g. using Electron).
- Improve and finalize AI functionality in Jamu, including:
- Setting up and testing prompt pipelines.
- Integrating a RAG layer (vector DBs like FAISS/Pinecone/Weaviate/Qdrant) to provide context from music theory and Ableton workflows.
- Managing knowledge databases (embedding, indexing, updating).
- Integrating and experimenting with LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or local models) to optimize responses for speed and quality.
- Debugging and refining AI workflows so outputs are consistent, predictable, and usable inside Ableton.
- Do basic UI edits and design adjustments, using modern AI design tools where it makes sense.
- Deliver results quickly and reliably, helping push Jamu into closed beta and beyond.
What we expect:
- Experience packaging Python apps into executables (macOS/Windows).
- Familiar with full-stack development and deploying web apps (e.g. Electron).
- Ability to do basic UI edits (using AI design tools or simple frontend frameworks).
- Knowledge of LLMs, RAG, and AI tools (personal/side projects are fine).
- Ability to solve problems independently and thrive in a startup-style environment.
- Comfortable shipping prototypes and iterating fast.
- Bonus: interest in music production.
- Big bonus: Ableton Live experience.
Why join Jamu?
- Early-stage startup opportunity: help shape the product from the inside.
- Build AI-native tooling for music production with real creative impact.
- Work with a small team that values speed, learning, and experimentation.
Compensation:
- Junior to mid-level range, depending on skills and package agreement.
- Part-time or full-time role.
