Senior Software Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer (m/f) to join our client in the banking sector.

Location: Luxembourg

Mode: On-site with teleworking flexibility after the first 2-3 months.

Contract: CDI (open for permanent employees and/or freelancers)

Language requirement: Fluent English.

Salary: To be discussed.

Qualifications:

• Proven hands-on expertise in setting up, deploying, managing, and supporting web application environments, including HTTPD web servers and Java-based application servers running on Linux systems, with preference for RedHat JBoss EAP.
• Strong understanding of the complexities involved in multi-tier web architectures, particularly in relation to high availability, security, web service delivery, and transaction handling.
• Capable of making sound technical architecture decisions, providing justifications, and constructively challenging proposed solutions when necessary.
• Practical experience with TLS (PKI), including configuring it within middleware platforms and managing certificate and key deployment processes.
• Skilled in organizing and documenting IT system architectures, technical designs, and security principles, with a high level of proficiency in technical writing in English.

Hands-on experience with the following technologies:

• HTTPD web server
• Java application servers on Linux, preferably RedHat JBoss EAP
• Apache Maven for build automation
• Development environments such as IntelliJ IDEA and/or Eclipse
• Linux operating systems
• OpenID Connect for Single Sign-On (SSO)
• Git version control
• Public cloud services and APIs, ideally Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the design, development, and deployment of Web servers (e.g., Apache HTTPD), application servers (such as RedHat JBoss EAP), and various middleware technologies (including Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, messaging platforms like RedHat JBoss A-MQ, and Kafka). This includes supporting both on-premises and cloud environments, leveraging IaaS and PaaS architectures.
• Evaluating emerging infrastructure technologies and solutions, with an emphasis on modern cloud architecture—covering aspects such as IaaS, PaaS, SaaS models, API integrations, security and isolation, high availability, data replication, and operational efficiency.
• Creating and maintaining automation tools, testing frameworks, scripting solutions, and DevOps integrations, along with producing associated documentation.
• Acting independently in coordinating with development, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams to ensure smooth delivery of projects and services.
• Preparing architectural and security documentation for enterprise IT systems, including those that are critical to public-facing web applications.
• Collaborating with domain specialists across teams and reporting directly to the Unit Manager.
