System Engineer

Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled System Engineer – Active Directory (AD) to support a major migration and consolidation project. The successful candidate will design and execute AD inventory and migration activities, ensuring operational stability and a seamless transition for end users.

This is a hands-on role requiring technical expertise in Active Directory, Quest migration tools, and hybrid identity environments involving Entra ID (Azure AD).

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a protocol for efficient AD environment inventory.
• Validate and structure inventory data to plan the migration phases.
• Coordinate data collection and communication with multiple stakeholders.
• Report regularly on progress, risks, and key findings.
• Participate in proof of concept activities to ensure seamless application access during migration using Quest Migrator Pro and Quest On Demand Migration.
• Design and implement the consolidation of multiple AD forests and domains (group nesting, GPO consolidation, OU structure).
• Execute user, group, and computer migrations using Quest tools.
• Administer and maintain AD infrastructure, including domain controllers, Group Policies, and AD-integrated applications.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure minimal service disruption.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation (designs, procedures, training materials).

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell).
• Proven experience with Active Directory and Quest migration tools.
• Prior experience with AD migrations is a definite asset.
• Familiarity with Quest Enterprise Reporter and GP Admin tools preferred.
• Knowledge of Entra ID (Azure AD) and hybrid identity environments is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Exchange / Exchange Online a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for stakeholder coordination.
