Laravel Engineer with MySQL Tuning Experience (Remote, LATAM)

Accountabilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality web applications using Laravel 8 and above
• Optimize MySQL database performance by identifying and resolving bottlenecks, improving query execution, and refining indexing strategies
• Write, debug, and fine-tune complex SQL queries for applications handling large datasets
• Design scalable and efficient database schemas, ensuring data integrity and system reliability
• Leverage Eloquent ORM and Laravel Query Builder effectively, ensuring optimal SQL generation and performance
• Develop and maintain secure, high-performance RESTful APIs with a focus on scalability and data efficiency
• Implement authentication mechanisms and backend security best practices
• Apply automated testing (Pest PHP, PHPUnit) to maintain system stability and code quality
• Collaborate in an agile, remote environment, contributing to process improvements and continuous delivery initiatives
  
  
  

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience working with Laravel (version 8 or above)
• Proven expertise in MySQL performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing
• Strong experience with EXPLAIN plans, normalization/denormalization strategies, and schema design for large-scale applications
• Experience working with multitenant SaaS architectures
• Solid understanding of Laravel Authentication and API development best practices
• Familiarity with ReactJS is an advantage
• Excellent problem-solving skills, ownership mindset, and attention to detail
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with a proactive, positive attitude
