About The Role

The Machine Learning and Gen AI Engineer will play a pivotal role within Deloitte's AI and Data practice, engaging directly with high-growth organizations to design, deploy, and manage scalable machine learning models for production environments. This position involves working closely with a talented team of data scientists, data architects, software developers, and industry experts to craft innovative AI solutions that drive automation, efficiency, and new business opportunities.

The role includes active participation in client pitches, proposal development, and project management activities for both client-facing projects and internal initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical foundation in AI/ML, MLOps, and cloud-native technologies, contributing to Deloitte’s mission of empowering clients to become data-driven organizations with responsible and transparent AI practices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in building and automating data analytics and machine learning pipelines
  • Hands-on experience in ML model development and deployment
  • Proficiency in Python for machine learning and automation tasks
  • Experience with MLOps frameworks such as Kubeflow, AWS SageMaker, Google AI Platform, Azure Machine Learning, DataRobot, or MLFlow
  • Strong data manipulation and integration skills using SQL, Oracle, Hadoop, NoSQL databases, or similar tools
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and cloud-native ecosystem tools
  • Experience working with ambiguous data, developing creative analytical approaches, and interpreting results from a business perspective
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with Azure or AWS platforms is an asset
  • Project management experience is an asset
  • Professional services, consulting, or advisory experience is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models at scale for production environments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand client needs and translate them into technical solutions
  • Participate in client pitches and proposal development to showcase AI capabilities and solutions
  • Implement and manage MLOps practices to ensure reliable and scalable deployment of AI models
  • Maintain and optimize existing ML pipelines for performance and accuracy
  • Leverage visual analytics and data visualization tools to derive actionable insights for clients
  • Engage in project management activities, including planning, tracking, and reporting on project progress
  • Stay updated on emerging AI/ML trends and incorporate best practices into project workflows
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and mentorship within the team
