GENERAL PURPOSE

This position is responsible for the development and maintenance of all Wheaton Park District websites. This includes publishing visually appealing, accessible content that provides the best user experience possible while actively maintaining and managing website infrastructure, anticipating and avoiding technical issues.

Required Education, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Minimum of an associate degree or equivalent and at least one (1) year of hands-on experience using PHP, HTML5, CSS, WordPress and macOS. The ideal candidate will take ownership of projects and be proficient in publishing content that meets WCAG 2.1 standards. Must have the ability to consistently meet deadlines while producing quality work and identify errors in content submissions. Exceptional attention to detail, written and verbal communication, organization and interpersonal skills are essential. Must be able to work with limited supervision or collaborate as a team. Familiarity with Campaign Monitor, Wrike, SmugMug, Photoshop and Canva are a plus.

Essential Functions

  • Process and complete incoming web requests accurately and in a timely manner for the Marketing Department and other departments within the District.
  • Perform proofing as you work to ensure vital and accurate information is published.
  • Keep up with trends, best practices and make recommendations to Creative Services Team.
  • Perform maintenance and updates on sites to keep them running smoothly.
  • Test content to ensure WCAG 2.1 accessibility guidelines are met.
  • Create and test email communications as needed.
  • Assist Creative Services Manager with additional assignments as needed.
  • Complete quality control checks on all work to ensure accuracy and functionality.
  • Work with creative team to maintain branding in all collateral.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with customers, coworkers, district staff, the Executive Director, and the Board of Commissioners.
  • Contribute to a feedback rich environment.
  • Provide a high quality of customer service in a professional manner to the internal customer that will facilitate team building and exceptional customer service to the external customer.
  • Follow the Wheaton Park District policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Proactively support the V.A.L.U.E.S. (integrity, fun, commitment, adaptability and growth, kindness, and service) on a daily basis.
  • Maintain good safety awareness and follow all safety guidelines and procedures.

Required Certifications, Licenses, Etc

Must have and maintain: valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; CPR/AED certified or obtain within one (1) year of employment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods with frequent repetitive hand/arm movements such as when working on a computer. This position must also be able to occasionally move objects weighing up to 25 lbs. This position will be required to move about the facility to access office equipment, etc.

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

Must be able to: consistently work in an office atmosphere with moderate noise level and lighting.

HOURS

20 hours per week

Make up your own schedule between 8:30A-4:30P on weekdays.

This is an on-site position.

SALARY

$19.00 to $21.00 per hour DOE

SALARY RANGE

Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum

$18.40 - $23.00 - $27.59
