The role

Syncio is looking for a Full-Stack Engineer to become an integral part of our product engineering team and help build the next frontier of commerce.

In this position, you will be involved in every phase of the development process - from conceptualisation to deployment. You’ll work alongside our founder, CTO, engineering lead, product manager, designer, and CX specialists to help define and build Syncio’s product features.

You'll be responsible for developing and deploying solutions that enhance our platform's functionality, performance, and security, with an equal focus on both backend and frontend. You’ll also drive high code quality through automated testing and proactive resolution of performance issues.

This role is not just about technical implementation; you'll be encouraged to contribute to product discussions, bringing your technical insights to help shape our product and directly interact with customers to understand their needs.

What you will do

Become an integral part of the product engineering team

• Work with the founder, CTO, engineering lead, product manager, designer, and CX specialists (basically everyone) to define Syncio’s feature and product set.
• You will be working on projects start to finish.

Drive technical excellence

• Develop and deploy full-stack solutions that enhance the platform's functionality, performance, and security.
• The work split is 80% backend and 20% frontend.
• Drive high code quality through automated testing, and proactive resolution of performance bottlenecks.
• Writing fluent API integrations for many open APIs.

Enable cross-team collaboration to flourish across multiple time zones

• High-quality communicator and team player in a remote-first environment.
• A self-managing team member who thrives in autonomy and a high-paced, dynamic environment.

Who we are looking for

Required skills

• Love for product and customers - You’re excited about solving real customer problems through well-designed solutions, not just the code.
• Full stack expertise - You have experience in Laravel, API development (GraphQL/REST), MySQL, and frontend frameworks like Vue.js or React, including AWS.
• GSD expert - You’re someone who ‘Gets Stuff Done.’ At Syncio, we say ‘Show, Don’t Tell,’ consistently delivering results, hitting goals, and end-to-end project development. You set the bar for excellence and reliability, all without needing micromanagement.
• Thrive in uncertainty – You adapt and excel in fast-changing, ambiguous situations. While this role focuses on deep code and solution architecting, your versatility could lead to other areas.
• Communication and collaboration pro - You’ll have thrived in keeping everyone aligned on the what, how, and why of the development's direction while also being a strong team player and leading the team to success.
