Role Description

We are looking for a motivated full stack engineer to join our team. This is a full-time hybrid role, based in Melbourne. As a full stack engineer, you will be building web applications with modern JS frameworks like Next.js and React.js, mobile applications with React Native and API backends with Node.js. You are a fast learner and love picking up new skills to diversify and grow yourself as a software engineer.

We understand that full stack engineers, although able to work across the whole application stack, tend to be biased towards either Backend (API) or Frontend systems.

You will be supported and encouraged to develop new skills, as learning is part of life at Creative Factory. If you are a talented full stack engineer, regardless of your bias towards either backend or frontend, this opportunity is for you.

Although we are looking for people with industry experience, we welcome folks who lack in experience but bring knowledge, motivation and a strong drive to upskill.

You

• Are self-managing with good time management and communication skills. Accountability and Ownership is a must.
• Demonstrate commitment to quality, simplicity, and attention to detail.
• Have product mindset, data driven and value end-user experience.
• Take ownership of systems and outcomes
• Like to build products iteratively and have ability to reduce scope and deliver MVPs.
• Comfortable in managing Tech Debt and discussing it with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Full stack application development
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Strong domain modelling skills
• Demonstrated experience in JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience in node.js API frameworks
• Experience in React Native mobile application development
• Experience in front end development using modern JS frameworks like Next.js
• Experience with Database design and Domain modelling
• Good knowledge of RESTful API principles
• Knowledge of AWS and orchestrating resources for high scalability
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field

Bonus

• Prior knowledge or keen interest in building front-end using other frameworks, like Flutter
• Eager to build skillsets in your journey as a full stack engineer
• Experience working with asynchronous systems
