Our government client is currently seeking an experienced Product Designer (UX/UI) to contribute to the delivery of high-profile digital transformation projects on an initial 6 month contract based in Adelaide.
YOU | Bring your passion for user-centred design and expertise in UX/UI to this exciting opportunity within a forward-thinking government agency. Your ability to translate complex business needs into intuitive, accessible, and elegant digital interfaces will be instrumental in delivering quality outcomes for both internal and external stakeholders. You will also bring:
- Proven experience in responsive and mobile web design, with a strong grasp of evolving web technologies
- Expertise in developing high-fidelity wireframes, sketches, and interactive prototypes
- Experience delivering detailed UI specifications and reusable design patterns
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eye for simplicity and usability
- Demonstrated ability to conduct and analyse user research, journey mapping, and usability testing
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments
- Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
- Ideally qualifications in Human-Centred Design, Graphic Design, Multimedia, or a related field
THE ROLE | As a Product Designer (UX/UI), you will work across strategic digital projects to ensure business and user needs are translated into high-quality, responsive design solutions. Reporting to the Portfolio Manager and Application Development Team Leader, you will play a key role in designing new platform features and creating seamless digital experiences that align with organisational goals and user expectations. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing responsive interfaces for web, tablet, and mobile platforms
- Creating wireframes, sketches, and prototypes to clearly communicate design concepts
- Simplifying complex user workflows into intuitive and engaging experiences
- Ensuring consistency with agency branding and contribution to UI/UX design systems
- Conducting stakeholder interviews, usability testing, and research analysis
- Documenting user goals, personas, journeys, and accessibility requirements
- Providing design advice and recommendations that are practical and aligned with operational constraints
