Backend Developer

Retail media is the biggest digital trend since the appearance of social media. It's all about leveraging customer data and digital platforms to offer targeted advertising opportunities within the retail environment, directly influencing consumer purchasing decisions at the point of sale. It represents a blend of e-commerce and advertising, where retailers monetize their online and physical spaces by enabling brands to reach shoppers more effectively. Of course, this is something we at Voyado want to offer our customers such as XXL, Apoteket Hjärtat, and Kicks.

This role isn't just about coding though; it's about shaping the future of retail media. As one of the earliest members of our new Ad Experience team, you'll become a cornerstone in the initiative and have the rare opportunity to be involved in the early stages and throughout the entire development process.

Join Simon, Bartosz and Hampus in making a real impact. As such, this position holds high strategic importance and you'll have the autonomy and support to drive initiatives forward and influence decision-making.

This is still quite a new team and area at Voyado. We've created and delivered a POC and are ready to make it production-ready! As the third person joining our Ad Experience team, your weeks are versatile. Whiteboard sessions, close collaboration with partner integrators, and tech discoveries to figure out what it is we should be focusing on and you'll be working on e.g. on architecture, writing code, and setting up pipelines to bring the team's ideas to life. You and the team will have to focus on developing and delivering the best experiences for our users. We do not strive to push out features as fast as possible but balance delivery with beta testing and user expectations.

And when the time comes when you need a break why don't you go and play games in our relaxation area like some pool, or ping pong or why not challenge our Åre office in Call of Duty on our PlayStation 5? 🎮

You have a genuine interest in tech, you're motivated by the unknown and navigate in a landscape with partners, tech, and dialogues with design and product management with excellence to drive the project forward.

Besides those personal skills, we believe you have some of the following:

• Strong knowledge of Java ☕️
• Basic knowledge of AWS, e.g. setting up S3 buckets ☁️
• A couple of years of professional experience in backend application development
• A college degree or bachelor's degree in computer science or something similar, or a comparable industry career.
• and most importantly, passion for what you do
