Senior Creative Technologist (Web, Freelance)

To help us deliver on an exciting, challenging internal project, DNA.inc is looking for a Senior Creative Web Technologist for a 2-3 month freelance engagement. In this assignment, you’ll bridge design and engineering to build high-fidelity prototypes, interactive experiences, and innovative digital solutions, with a strong eye for motion, transitions, and micro-interactions that bring designs to life.

About The Role

As a freelance Senior Creative Technologist at DNA.inc, you’ll be at the forefront of digital creative innovation and help shape digital brands and experiences. Among other things, you can expect to contribute in:

Creative Development & Implementation

• Guide creative concepts from the idea stage, through prototyping, into production-ready experiences.
• Build responsive websites, interactive installations, and other digital touchpoints.
• Develop custom animations, micro-interactions, and motion systems that bring digital products, experiences, and brand identities to life.
• Create reusable component libraries and design systems for consistent brand execution.
  
  
  

Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration

• Partner closely with product managers, engineers, and visual and motion designers.
• Translate design specifications into technical requirements and feasibility assessments.
• Participate in technical workshops and guide implementation possibilities.
• Ensure seamless handoffs between creative and development phases.
  
  
  

Project Excellence

• Present technical solutions and prototypes to internal stakeholders.
• Provide technical consultation during creative concepting phases.
• Ensure deliverables meet both creative vision and technical standards.
• Contribute to project scoping and timeline estimation.
  
  
  

About You

To be considered a candidate for this role, we want you (ideally) to:

• have 8+ years of frontend development experience, with a strong creative focus and experience in agencies, studios, or brand environments.
• share a portfolio showcasing attention to detail in interactive, branded digital experiences.
• be an expert in HTML5, CSS3, modern JavaScript (ES6+), and modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue.js, or similar).
• have demonstrable skills in responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and performance optimization for complex visuals.
• bring deep experience with animations, motion libraries (GSAP, Framer Motion, Three.js, P5.js), and WebGL/3D web experiences.
• Understand how to set up design systems (Storybook), work with JAMstack architectures and headless CMSs (Contentful), and incorporate assets from design and motion tools (Figma, Lottie, Blender, After Effects, etc.) into your projects
• have strong understanding of design principles, motion, typography, micro-interactions, and iterative creative workflows.
• be based, and work without need for sponsorship, in the European Union
