We’re building the next century of shopping - making it feel human, communal, and alive again. E-commerce has spent decades optimising for clicks, stripping away the trust, joy, and connection that once made shopping meaningful.
We’ve recently raised an $18M Series A from the world’s best investors to build the next era of commerce. Now, we’re hiring elite builders to make it happen.
Your Mission 🫵
At Tilt, QA isn’t about ticking boxes; it’s about thinking like our users, understanding the intent behind every feature, spotting what truly matters, and working with Product Owners, designers, and developers to fix it fast.
As our first dedicated QA hire, you’ll shape how quality works across Tilt: designing scalable testing processes, defining what “ready for QA” means, and building habits and tools that help teams deliver with confidence. You’ll move fluidly between hands-on testing and quality strategy, always focused on impact, clarity, and speed.
You’ll start with hands-on testing of our web platform, then expand coverage across mobile, identifying where automation brings the most value and helping us evolve toward a sustainable, data-driven QA practice.
Please note:
- We do not offer visa sponsorship for this role, and only candidates with full right to work will be considered.
- You’ll operate on UK time zone hours to stay closely aligned with the team, regardless of your location.
0–3 Months
- Get up to speed on Tilt’s core flows, community dynamics, and feature set (iOS, Android, and Web).
- Write and document initial manual test scenarios
- for our most critical user paths.
- Run your first end-to-end regression cycle on a stable release, producing clear, actionable reports.
- Define a QA bug-reporting standard (including reproduction steps, expected vs actual behaviour, environment details, and media evidence).
- Document key differences between Android and iOS builds to improve consistency across platforms.
- Begin testing the seller dashboard and seller-related features, ensuring parity across web and mobile.
- Own regression coverage for your focus area before each major release.
- Partner with POs to balance quality vs. delivery, deciding what needs fixing now vs. later.
- Maintain a prioritised bug backlog that clearly outlines impact, urgency, and status.
- Test across multiple devices, OS versions, and degraded network conditions.
- Build visibility by maintaining a clear, up-to-date record of known issues and regressions.
- Adapt quickly to evolving priorities, ensuring quality remains visible even in fast delivery cycles.
- Draft a long-term automation strategy, proposing tools, scenarios, and ROI to guide the next stage of QA maturity.
- Proven experience as a QA Engineer or Software Tester, ideally within a fast-paced product company.
- Strong ability to work independently, take initiative, and own the quality process end-to-end.
- Skilled in writing clear test plans, cases, and acceptance criteria.
- Hands-on experience with manual testing, starting with web.
- Familiar with or open to adopting modern automation frameworks (and integrating them into CI/CD).
- Excellent communicator and collaborator across product, design, and engineering.
- Curious, analytical, and detail-oriented, with a strong instinct for uncovering hidden risks early.
- Knowledge of French, Spanish, Italian, or Polish
- Experience with, or interest in, test automation frameworks and practices
- Familiarity with BrowserStack and TestRail
- You’ll be joining a mission-driven team backed by world-class investors (TechCrunch)
- You’ll own meaningful systems from day one, with real scope and autonomy
- You’ll work alongside curious, kind, and wickedly smart teammates
- You’ll help redefine how millions of people shop online
