Compute OS- Windows, Linux, Virtualization etc- The role encompasses end-to-end support for operating systems and infrastructure devices, including maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and migration activities. It involves managing asset inventory and ensuring accurate updates in the CMDB. Engineers are responsible for commissioning and decommissioning hardware, configuring system resources, and supporting virtualization environments. Additionally, they handle repair and restoration tasks, coordinate with third-party vendors and helpdesk/field support teams, ensuring smooth operations and timely resolution of issues across the IT landscape.

Database - The role involves providing comprehensive support and maintenance for multiple database instances across various platforms, including MSSQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, and MongoDB. Key responsibilities include routine health checks, performance tuning, troubleshooting issues, and executing upgrades and migrations. It also covers asset inventory management, CMDB updates, and lifecycle activities such as commissioning and decommissioning of database resources. Engineers are expected to configure database environments, support virtualization, and coordinate with third-party vendors and helpdesk/field support teams to ensure high availability and reliability of database services.

Storage & Backup - The role focuses on monitoring and maintaining enterprise storage and backup systems. It includes responding to alerts and incidents like disk failures, backup job errors, and latency issues, while performing initial triage and root cause analysis. Engineers are responsible for executing scheduled backup jobs, managing disk space and quotas, and investigating complex issues such as data corruption and performance bottlenecks. Deep-dive analysis and implementation of permanent fixes are key, along with collaboration across DevOps, Security, and Infrastructure teams. The role also supports disaster recovery planning and execution to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
