For one of our clients we are seeking a visionary and innovative Director - Science-Based Healthcare Domain AI Solutions to lead efforts in harnessing data-driven AI strategies. Reporting to the Executive Director of AI & Data, you will be integral in shaping the future by driving the identification, evaluation, and scientific validation of AI solutions that align with long-term goals.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Foresight & Technology Scouting

• Scout the global healthcare AI landscape to identify and evaluate solutions that leverage data assets.
• Provide data-driven recommendations and scientific reports to inform strategic planning efforts.
• Conduct thorough feasibility studies on new AI solutions, assessing scientific validity and integration potential.

Science-Based Innovation

• Collaborate with research institutions and technology providers to validate AI vendors and explore collaborative opportunities.
• Lead research projects aimed at assessing the scientific claims of AI solutions.
• Translate research insights into actionable recommendations for technology adoption.

AI Solution Evaluation & Validation

• Define evaluation methods for assessing scientific validity and data-related aspects of AI solutions.
• Assess potential risks and impacts, focusing on scientific rigor and ethical considerations.
• Implement frameworks for responsible AI use across the organization.

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing

• Advocate for strategic technology initiatives across leadership and clinical teams.
• Present research findings to support decision-making efforts.
• Contribute to cross-functional collaborations for effective AI implementation.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ph.D. or equivalent in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics, or related fields.
• 10+ years’ experience in AI-related R&D, with at least 5 years in leadership.
• Strong understanding of key AI techniques (machine learning, deep learning, NLP, computer vision).
• Proven ability to translate research into practical applications in healthcare.
• Excellent communication skills for conveying complex concepts.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience publishing in leading scientific journals or conferences.
• Background in research lab environments.
• Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or biotech sectors.
• Proven track record of establishing research collaborations.
• Familiarity with large healthcare datasets and data governance principles.
