Android Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Engineer with 8-10 years of experience to join our Streaming Platform Team. This role focuses on maintaining and enhancing a robust mobile application that enables users to search for and stream content on Android devices, including phones, tablets, and TVs. The ideal candidate is a native Android specialist proficient in Kotlin and Java, with a strong background in building and optimizing streaming applications.

Responsibilities

• App Maintenance & Modernization: Maintain and enhance the streaming app, working with legacy Java code and migrating features to Kotlin and Coroutines for improved performance and scalability.
• Feature Development: Design, develop, and test new features to enhance user experience in content discovery and playback across Android devices.
• Bug Fixing & Optimization: Identify and resolve bugs, optimize app performance, and implement updates to ensure a seamless streaming experience.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and QA engineers, to deliver high-quality features and updates.
• Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices in Android development.
• Testing: Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and UI tests to ensure app reliability and performance.

Technical Skills:

• Expertise in Kotlin and Java for Android app development.
• Proficiency with Coroutines and RxJava for asynchronous programming.
• Strong experience with Git for source control and collaborative development.
• Familiarity with Android Studio for development and debugging.
• Knowledge of Jira for project tracking and agile workflows.
• Understanding of standard Android stacks and best practices.
• Domain Experience: Prior work on video streaming apps (e.g., Hulu, Netflix, or similar) is highly desirable for transferable skills in streaming and content delivery.
• Project Stability: Demonstrated experience working on projects for more than one year, showcasing commitment and depth in application development.

• Cross-platform engineers with primary experience in frameworks like React Native.
• Developers with primary experience in iOS or other non-Android platforms.
