Data Scientist | Melbourne | $120,000+ Super
Our client has a strong focus on innovation, research, and digital transformation supporting everyday individuals with healthcare.
You’ll be part of the Data & Analytics division, a collaborative group that turns data into meaningful insights to guide strategy, improve operations, and drive better outcomes. The team is responsible for building analytical tools, supporting research projects, and developing predictive models that shape decision-making across the organisation.
We’re looking for a Data Scientist who enjoys solving complex problems with data. You’ll collaborate with domain experts, engineers, and researchers to design and implement models, visualisations, and analytical solutions that have a tangible impact on real-world outcomes.
Data Scientist Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy predictive models and machine learning algorithms for operational, research, and community-focused initiatives.
- Work with large, diverse data sets to identify trends and generate actionable insights.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand business needs and deliver data-driven solutions.
- Support the creation of analytical dashboards and decision-support tools.
- Contribute to research partnerships and assist in translating analytical findings into practice.
Data Scientist Requirements
- Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 2+ years of experience in applied data science, analytics, or machine learning.
- Strong skills in Python and SQL.
- Experience with machine learning, statistical modelling, and ideally natural language processing.
- Familiarity with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Streamlit.
- Exposure to Azure, Databricks, LLMs, or MLOps frameworks will be highly regarded.
