We are seeking IT Security Manager, Melbourne based, to lead our IT operations, safeguard our systems, and drive innovation in a fast-paced, forward-thinking organization. What You’ll Do
- Lead IT Operations: Manage and optimize IT systems across hybrid Microsoft/M365, Mac, and Linux environments, ensuring high performance and reliability of hardware, software, and networks.
- Master Microsoft Suite: Administer and enhance tools like Office 365, Teams, SharePoint, and Azure AD to boost productivity and collaboration.
- Strengthen Cybersecurity: Develop and implement robust security policies, protect against threats, and ensure compliance with the Essential 8 framework and standards like ISO 27001.
- Implement Essential 8: Drive the adoption and maintenance of the Essential 8 framework across hybrid Microsoft/M365, Mac, and Linux environments to ensure robust cybersecurity
- Guide Your Team: Mentor and inspire the ICT team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Drive Strategic Initiatives: Partner with leadership to create IT and cybersecurity strategies, manage budgets, and oversee technology roadmaps.
- Respond to Incidents: Lead cybersecurity incident response, from detection to recovery, with thorough documentation.
- Manage Vendors: Negotiate with vendors to secure cost-effective, reliable IT and security solutions.
- Customer Projects: When and where possible, contribute to:
- Consulting with internal teams on project proposals, focusing on security aspects of high-end HPC and AI cluster solutions.
- Consulting with customers on security for HPC and AI cluster solutions.
- Managing deployment, implementation, and configuration of networks, switches, firewalls, and other infrastructure in customer projects.
What We’re Looking For
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Master’s degree or certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator) a plus.
- Experience:
- 7+ years in IT, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Extensive experience managing, protecting, and securing hybrid Microsoft/M365, Mac, and Linux environments.
- Proven expertise in implementing the Essential 8 framework in hybrid environments.
- Experience with cybersecurity frameworks, tools, and protocols (firewalls, SIEM, endpoint protection).
- (Preferred) Experience consulting on or deploying security for high-end HPC and AI cluster solutions, including network, switch, and firewall configuration.
Skills:
- Deep knowledge of cybersecurity principles (threat analysis, encryption, vulnerability management).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and cloud platforms (Azure, Intune) in hybrid environments.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
