Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated research intern to explore state-of-the-art (SOTA) methods for person tracking using LiDAR data. This internship will focus on investigating, prototyping, and benchmarking algorithms capable of detecting and tracking individuals in real-world environments using LiDAR point clouds, without reliance on camera or radar data.
Responsibilities
Conduct a literature review of recent advancements in LiDAR-based person detection and tracking.
Implement and experiment with SOTA algorithms (e.g., point cloud processing, deep learning-based trackers).
Evaluate performance across our datasets or simulated environments.
Compare approaches in terms of robustness, scalability, and real-time feasibility.
Requirements for the role
Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Strong background in machine learning, computer vision, or robotics.
Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
Familiarity with tracking algorithms (Kalman filter, particle filter, or deep tracking approaches).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
