Backend Developer (Python and FastAPI) - Europe

In this role, you'll work as part of a small, highly skilled remote team building scalable backend systems that connect with blockchain infrastructure and wallet integrations. You'll have a direct impact on designing and delivering efficient backend architectures while ensuring performance, security, and reliability. The environment is fast-paced and collaborative, offering autonomy and technical challenges for developers passionate about clean code and modern backend frameworks. This position is full-time, long-term, and remote, open exclusively to candidates based in Europe.

Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services in Python (FastAPI) for high-performance applications
• Create and integrate RESTful APIs that interact with blockchain networks and smart contracts using Web3.js or Ethers.js
• Build and manage wallet integrations to support authentication and transaction workflows
• Collaborate closely with the frontend team to deliver seamless and reliable user experiences
• Manage and optimize PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis environments for performance and scalability
• Apply best practices in backend development to ensure system reliability, data security, and efficient operations
  
  
  

Requirements

• Proven, recent hands-on experience developing production-level services with Python and FastAPI (core requirement)
• Strong understanding of SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
• Solid working knowledge of Redis for caching, queues, or data pipelines
• Good grasp of API design, backend architecture, and database optimization
• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments (a strong plus)
• Must be based in Europe for team collaboration and time zone alignment
