Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Founding Engineer based in The Randstad, Netherlands. You’ll take full ownership of features from concept to deployment — designing, building, testing, and scaling them with real users in mind. You’ll work closely with the founding team to transform complex climate and emissions data into intuitive, impactful products that help companies decarbonise faster.

Your day-to-day will involve building robust backend systems, developing clean and responsive user interfaces, and making key architectural decisions that will shape the technical foundation of our platform. You’ll have significant autonomy, working across the stack to ship new functionality and improve performance as we scale.

Qualifications

• Strong software development and programming skills, with experience in JavaScript/TypeScript (React, Node.js or similar frameworks)
• Solid understanding of databases, particularly PostgreSQL — from schema design to query optimisation
• Demonstrated ability to own features end-to-end, including backend, frontend, and user experience
• A product-oriented mindset — you care about usability, design, and building things people love to use
• Experience designing and developing clean, intuitive user interfaces (UX/UI)
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, early-stage environment
• Experience with cloud infrastructure or AI/data analytics is a plus
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
