Job Role-


We are looking for an experienced Data Privacy professional to join the highly regarded Privacy Team at HCLTech.


The Group Manager-Privacy supports the Global Privacy Office in the effective management of the HCLTech’ s Privacy Compliance Framework and supporting corporate and business teams in maintaining high standards in data privacy consistent with HCLTech values and applicable data protection laws.


The individual will be responsible for supporting and implementing all aspects of the global data protection compliance strategy and provision of advice and guidance to effectively mitigate data privacy risks.


This role will involve regular interactions with all functions within the organization which undertake or influence the processing of personal data including HR, Information Security, Information Technology, Marketing, Business Teams, Risk & Compliance teams etc.


  1. Role and Responsibilities


  • Provide expert advice and guidance to employees and Corporate & Business teams across the regions in relation to data protection and privacy.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive internal data protection policies and procedures, consistent with regulatory requirements and wider HCLTech group strategy.
  • Carry out PIA and PbD assessments for personal data processing activities.
  • Undertake regular internal reviews for personal data handling processes to assess compliance with relevant laws and policies and identify compliance risks.
  • Regularly monitor and report on changes in data protection obligations. Perform gap analysis in relation to new legislation, regulatory guidance and/or compliance frameworks, and oversee the implementation of applicable requirements across the business.
  • Document action plans to address identified privacy risks and maintain an up-to-date privacy risk register.
  • Lead, as required, and maintain cross-functional working groups to coordinate privacy efforts, including current projects and initiatives and regulatory awareness.
  • Manage data subject rights requests and privacy-related complaints.
  • Act as the point of contact for internal and external data protection audits
  • Work with all key business areas, and support functions to ensure data privacy issues are considered at the outset of new projects, products, and initiatives.
  • Handle personal data incidents and provide subject matter expertise to assess the impact of the incident and measures for mitigating the risk. Where applicable assist with reporting of confirmed breaches to concerned regulatory authorities and impacted data subjects
  • Support the development and roll out of privacy training, communications, and awareness campaigns (both mandatory and targeted training) across the enterprise to reinforce privacy policies, procedures, and practices; and
  • Support the Regional Privacy Officer(s) and the Chief Privacy Officer to meet Board, Committee, and other reporting requirements.


Technical and Professional Skills


  • A bachelor's or master's degree preferably in law, information security, computer science, or a related discipline.
  • A deep understanding of global privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, LGPD, PIPL, CPRA, HIPAA,DPDP Act etc.)
  • Professional certifications such as CIPP, CIPM, CIPT, CDPSE, DCPP etc.
  • Between five and nine years of experience in a privacy/data protection role.
  • Experience in managing data privacy issues in a global organization.
  • Proficiency in assessing and mitigating data privacy risks as well as understanding risk management frameworks.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, ensuring timely and successful completion while adhering to compliance standards.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including stakeholder buy in of activity, findings, remediation, and outputs.
  • Ability to effectively lead and manage a team of privacy professionals.
  • Ability to work well individually as well as in collaboration.
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills and to builds relationships both internally and externally.
  • Credibility, professionalism, and strong personal integrity.
  • Understanding and appreciation of different cultural, business practices and attitudes, and

strong attention to detail.


Other requirements

  • The candidate must within Sweden or EU/EEA region and must have the appropriate work authorization to work in Sweden
  • Language requirements – The professional should be fluent in Swedish, English (written and spoken). Knowledge of other languages is a plus.
